How I Know When It’s Intuition

Sometimes it's hard to tell if you're receiving divine guidance, but over time, I’ve learned to feel the difference. Intuition is not loud, it’s not desperate, and it never comes with a side of panic. So, here’s how I personally tell when my inner voice is actually intuition.

1. It’s Calm, Even When the Message Isn’t

Intuition doesn’t yell, that’s fear, intuition just knows. It drops a sentence or a feeling and that's it.

Example? Once I had a job offer that looked amazing on paper, it was big salary and other benefits as well. But my body felt like a heavy fog rolled in every time I thought about accepting it. My mind was saying “this is perfect,” but my inner voice whispered, “Nope, this is not it.” Although it was hard, I listened to this inner instinct, and I accepted the offer from another company. Well ... one year and a half later I was contacted by an old colleague of mine asking if they hire at the company for which I am working because that company closed and fired all employees. So, thank God I listened.

Now I trust that still, steady voice that doesn’t need to shout.

2. It Feels Like It Came From ‘Elsewhere’ But Still You

This is the strange part, sometimes intuition drops a thought into your head that you know didn’t come from the usual mental chatter.

It’s like:

  • Your brain: “Should I do this one more thing to get this specific outcome?”

  • Your intuition: “No need. It’s already done.” And you’re like hmmmm.

It’s you, but not the overthinking, fear-based version of you, it’s still you but wise and collected.

3. The Body Knows Before the Brain Catches Up

If my stomach tightens, I pay attention, if my chest feels open and peaceful, I pay attention. My body reacts to truth faster than my logic does.

A yes-feeling? Expansive, light, peaceful. A no-feeling? Heavy, lightly nauseating.

Try this next time: ask yourself a question, then feel your body’s immediate response. It knows because that subconscious of yours it's ancient.

When something is intuition, it doesn’t chase you, but it returns, repeatedly, maybe in dreams, in random conversations, in songs.

I’ve had intuitive nudges that made no sense at the time, but they just wouldn’t leave me alone. Later, they made perfect sense.

Your inner voice it’s always there, soft, steady, and often ignored in favor of louder noises.

But the more you listen, the louder it becomes, and the more you trust it, the less time you waste on dead ends and detours.

So next time you feel that subtle nudge, that tiny whisper, pause and just try to listen, try to tune in.
