☕📖Reading Witchy Fiction When You’re Actually a Witch

Updated: Jun 3

Let’s be honest, when you're actually a practicing witch, reading witchy fiction can be... hit or miss. Sometimes it’s super inaccurate, sometimes it makes you cringe (“that’s not how energy works, what the.....”), and sometimes it just hits the spot.

Lately, I’ve been diving into something cozy and fun: Library Witch Mysteries Books 1–3 by Elle Adams. I’m nearly through the third book, and let me tell you, it’s the kind of simple, charming story that wraps around you like a blanket. Magic, mystery, a little mischief, and a whole lot of library magic, what’s not to like?

Books like these aren’t meant to be spellbooks, and that’s exactly why they’re so delightful. They’re cozy, playful, and remind us that even in fiction, a little magic can still spark wonder. And honestly? Sometimes we need that kind of magical escape, especially when we’re walking in a life full of all kind of challenges right? Family, life, job, etc etc.

There’s also something incredibly comforting about spotting pieces of your own practice woven into a fictional book. Take Library Witch Mysteries, let’s talk about Rory for a moment, the main character from this book. She starts off just working at a bookshop, living an ordinary life until some vampires show up demanding her late father’s journal. That’s when she’s sweeped away by a magical family she never even knew existed.

Suddenly, Rory is living in a town full of supernatural beings, learning spells, solving magical murders, and trying to make sense of this new, hidden world. And her magic? She’s a biblio-witch, she writes in an enchanted book, and the words come true, that's basically her main sort of magic. Honestly, it’s not too far off from the real-world idea of scripting or writing down manifestations, is it?

It’s a lighthearted story filled with humor, spells, quirky characters, and just enough mystery to keep you turning the pages. So no, it’s not an accurate guide to casting circles or invoking spirits, but it is a magical little escape, good with some tea and cookies...hahaha...and on top of that, will make you smile and reminds you why you fell in love with the craft in the first place.

🔮😉So if you’re looking for something light, witchy, and fun to curl up with, give Elle Adams’ Library Witch Mysteries a shot. It might just charm you and make you feel good.
